With the James Bond film franchise celebrating 50 years, we have two videos of Bond car chases to enjoy. For those of us who grew up with Sean Connery and Aston Martin as the Bond ingredients that matter, nothing is better than James Bond in an Aston Martin DB5. Last week, the father-daughter team of John and Jill Glenney completed the first cross-country drive in a Tesla using the company's new network of Superchargers to refuel. Yesterday, a pair of Tesla Model S sedans driven by a rotating squadron of 15 company employees set what they hope will be an electric record for cross-country travel. That team arrived in New York City Sunday morning Feb.
Opel/Vauxhall has given us a sneak peek of its new mid-size convertible, the Cascanda, which effectively replaces the Astra Twin Top. The Cascanda features a full-size fabric roof that can be opened or closed with one button up to speeds of 30mph and is the latest model to shun a folding hardtop in favor of the lighter and more practical soft option. The company claims this is its first D-segment cabrio for more than 70 years but, unlike them, we haven't forgotten the Cavialier Convertible of the 1980s (see pic).
